STEPHANIE E. CARTER

Stephanie, in addition to being a partner in HRT Associates, is a licensed Massachusetts attorney and certified mediator. She began her career as a labor and employment attorney and has worked as an employee relations manager and human resources director, assisting organizations with legal compliance, contract negotiations, relationship building, and management skills training.

She received her undergraduate degree in English and Economics from Boston College and her law degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management. She has completed the Harvard Program on Negotiation and is certified in Dispute Resolution and Mediation from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She is presently completing her Masters Degree in this area.

Stephanie specializes in ombudswork, mediation, and professional skills training and coaching. Currently she works with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as its health care ombudsman, resolving conflicts between consumers, providers, and health care insurers. In addition to health care mediation, she has mediated in the areas of adoption, business, divorce, education, and employment.

Her professional skills training expertise includes courses in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation, Mediation, Team-building and Leadership, Communication, Interviewing and Hiring, Performance Management, Problem-Solving, Workplace Diversity, and Sexual Harassment.
